I am currently a third year graduate student in the Mathematics Department at University of Kentucky. Prior to studying mathematics, I taught grades six through eight at a progressive independent school in Alexandria, VA.

Outside of mathematics and education, my passions lie in art and nature. I particularly enjoy drawing and I have recently been exploring paints and watercolor.

Teaching Philosophy

My goal as an educator and mathematician is to create a learning community that extends far beyond that of a classroom. I strive to bring enthusiasm and the excitement of mathematics to my students. I achieve this by creating a safe classroom environment; maintaining a constructive teaching stance; and structuring my lessons around collaborative group work and student participation. My students are engaged and constantly communicating mathematics. I invite you to read my teaching statement

for further insight into my classroom.

Research Statement

At this point in my career, I am freely exploring my interests and I look forward to discovering where my interests lie.
