Test dates (estimate):
- Test 1: Tuesday, Sept. 23, Ch. 1 & 2
- Test 2: Tuesday, Oct. 28, Ch. 3-5
- Test 3: Thursday, Nov. 20, Ch. 6-8.
Homework: Homework will be due each Thursday, at the beginning of class. You are free to work in groups on the homework, but you must write up your solutions separately, in your own words. Your lowest homework grade will be dropped. PLEASE STAPLE YOUR HOMEWORK.
Grading policy: The breakup will be: Homework - 20%, Midterm I - 15%, Midterm II - 15% , Midterm III - 15%, Final exam - 35%. If your score on the final exam is higher than your lowest test score, I will replace that lowest test score with your score on the final.
Exam policy: No use of notes or any electronic devices (including calculators) will be permitted. Students must bring photo ID to the final exam. A student must receive a passing grade on the final exam in order to pass the course.

| A+=97%-100% | B+=87%-89.9% | C+=75%-79.9% | D+=62%-64.9% |
| A=93%-96.9% | B=83%-86.9% | C=70%-74.9% | D=58%-61.9% |
| A-=90%-92.9% | B-=80%-82.9% | C-=65%-69.9% | D-=55%-57.9% |
