Exams

 

There will be three midterm exams and a final exam. Each exam is worth 100 points.
You must have available a photo ID to each exam and you may use a scientific calculator on the exams.
Absolutely no cell phone use during an exam is allowed.
The final exam, Exam 4, will be comprehensive.

Review sessions

Tentatively, review sessions will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm using Zoom on Monday February 5, March 4 and April 8.
A review session before the Final Exam will also be arranged at the most convenient date and time for the students.
Details will be provided through Canvas announcements.

Exam rooms

Exams 1-3 are scheduled in CB 114 (Classroom Building).
Exam 4 is scheduled in CP 153 (Chemistry and Physics Building).

Exam dates and material

Exam 1: 5:00-7:00 pm, February 6 (Tuesday), 2024.
Covers Chapters 6 and 7. (Namely: Sections 6.3, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, and 7.4; bonus question on 8.1)
Exam 2: 5:00-7:00 pm, March 5 (Tuesday), 2024.
Covers Chapters 8 and 9 (Namely: Section 8.1, 8.2, 9.1, and 9.2)
Exam 3: 5:00-7:00 pm, April 9 (Tuesday), 2024.
Covers the end of Chapter 9 and Chapter 10 (Namely: 9.3, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, and 10.4)
Exam 4: 6:00-8:00 pm, May 1 (Wednesday), 2024.
Comprehensive (covers all Chapters: all previous sections and, in addition, 11.1, 11.2, 11.3).

Alternate exams

Students who have university excused absences or who have university-scheduled class conflicts
with uniform examinations may take an Alternate Exam. You must fill out the Alternate Exam
Request Form and submit it to your instructor at least two weeks before the scheduled exam.

The Alternate Exams for Exams 1-3 are given on the same days as the regular exams in room
CB 118 (Classroom Building) from 7:30 to 10:00 pm (February 6, March 5, April 9).
The two and a half hour exam window is meant to allow for late arrivals due to late labs. The exam is two hours long.

If you have three exams on the same day or a concurrent exam on Wednesday May 3
you are entitled to reschedule the final of the highest numbered course. If this is the case
and MA 138 is the highest numbered course, the makeup exam will take place on TBD
from xx:xx pm to xx:xx pm.
PLEASE let your instructor know in advance whether you qualify to take the makeup exam.
