Abstract:
Björner and Welker applied the algebraic concept of Rees products
to posets, proving that the Rees product of two Cohen-Macaulay posets
is also Cohen-Macaulay.
We discuss a specific CM example of this
poset product between the face lattice of the n-cube and the chain.
We will look at this poset's top homology group using enumerative
combinatorics, topology, and representation theory.
This is joint work with Margaret Readdy.
