Abstract:
Additive energy and additive doubling are two notions used to measure
the amount of additive structure in a set. We survey several
"Freiman-type theorems", as well as the Polynomial Freiman-Ruzsa
Conjecture, which all attempt to deduce information about the additive
structure of sets with small additive doubling. If time permits we
will also discuss some recent work relating the additive doubling of
a set to the additive energy of a closely related set.
