Abstract:
A subset of R^n is called star-shaped if it contains the origin and its
intersection with any line passing through the origin is a closed
interval. We will discuss Daniel Klain's 1996 characterization of
certain 'continuous' set functions (valuations) defined on these sets
and invariant under rotations.
